Dalit Magazines: Challenges and Transformations in Delhi

Abstract

This research examines the historical and contemporary challenges faced by Dalit periodical literature and its print culture in Delhi. The Dalit magazine is acutely sentient of its unique responsibility in reimagining and reorganising ideas, spaces and social structures that have traditionally been hostile to the aspirations of the community. The study explores the intersection of literacy, economic stability, and political consciousness in shaping the Dalit magazine print industry in the city of Delhi.
